Santiago de Tunja Cathedral is an architectural monument fruit of inspiration, talent and skills, located in La Calle Real (currently ninth career). Initially, two towers stood out in its plans, however, the project was not carried out in this way. Rather, rooms called "atarazanas" were built to house building material for the temple.

Over time, these rooms were modified. One restored as a cultural house, where Don Juan de Castellanos lived, being here where he wrote part of his work "Elegies of Illustrious Men of the Indies". The other was destined for a commercial establishment, whose traditional name "El Atrio" alludes to its location next to the porticos of the great construction of the time.

With the aim of providing comfort and well-being to its visitors, the current administrator, after due permits, remodeled the room, preserving the original structure, features and colonial style.
